White Waltham Parish Council Services

White Waltham Parish Council was formed along with many others in 1894 following an act of Parliament.

Apart from the village of White Waltham itself, the Parish includes the villages of Woodlands Park and Littlewick and the hamlets of Woolley Green, Paley Street and Littlefield Green. There are just under 3000 registered electors in the Parish as a whole. Most of the Parish lies within the Green Belt and certain parts of the Parish have been designated as conservation areas. The main function of the Council is to represent the Community along with and to act as the interface with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and other agencies as appropriate.
The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance of the Green at Littlewick (of which it is the registered owner), Phipps Close recreational area, Waltham Grove Park and Cherry Orchard. In addition to the Woodlands Park Village Centre, the Parish Council also manages the Parish Hall in White Waltham Village and the tennis courts in White Waltham.

You can always pop into the Centre at any time to find out more information from the Centre’s Staff. After lunch, there is a raffle and a game of bingo which you can choose to stay for if you wish.

Green spaces and play areas

White Waltham Parish Council is responsible for the following green spaces and play areas.
Waltham Grove has a trim trail for older children and adults and a climbing frame with slide, swings and a roundabout for younger children.

The orchard has many fruit and nut trees such as apple, damson, pear, walnut.

It is also home to rabbits and a few deer. There is a pit between Waltham Grove and the orchard which when it fills up in the winter is home to ducks and birds.

The parish council has installed bird boxes in Waltham Grove and the orchard and are looking to install bat boxes this year.

It is possible most of the year to walk a circuit from Waltham Grove to the orchard and is used by many walkers with or without dogs.

The green is the focal point of Littlewick Green. It is home to Littlewick Green cricket club and has a set of swings for children.

Cherry Orchard is on Cherry Garden Lane and was gifted to the parish council from developers.

It is full of cherry trees, wildflowers and many pollinators.

There are benches for people to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Phipps Close is the home of the parish council’s largest play area and recreational space.

There is a mixture of play equipment for older and younger children as well as space for football and basketball.

Defibrillators

A defibrillator in the community is vital because: there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year and currently less than 1 in 10 survive. without immediate intervention with a defibrillator, most cardiac arrests are fatal.

White Waltham Parish Council fund four defibrillators within the parish.
