Parish Wards

Woodlands Park Ward

The area was originally the Heywood estate.

Heywood House no longer exists, and housing has been built over the area. A lodge for the estate can still be identified on the Waltham Road, opposite White Waltham Airfield. Some say the name of the estate was changed to Woodlands Park in order to remove the connection to a particularly famous murder there.

It is home to a range of amenities, including shops, a take-away food outlet, the Woodlands Park Primary School and a doctor’s surgery. The Woodlands Park Village Centre is the hub of the neighbourhood, housing the Parish Council and hosting a wide variety of activities including classes, community events and halls for hire.

The parish council owns & maintains a play area with lots of play equipment and is a focal point for many families.
